Transfer an organization between distributors
An organization can move from one distributor to another, or to direct management by the platform. The platform performs the transfer, on request.
What changes?
The new distributor sees and manages the organization from then on; the previous one loses access. Its users, data and domains do not change.
What must happen first?
An organization holding a licence allocated by its distributor (or allocating seats from its own) cannot move: the console says it did not move because it changed meanwhile or holds such a licence, and that those allocations must be revoked first.
Do the three steps in one sitting:
- The current distributor revokes the organization's licence (see Revoke).
- The platform transfers the organization.
- The new distributor allocates a licence from its pool.
Between the revocation and the new licence, the organization has no licence and is read-only. Agree a time with the customer.
A licence issued by the platform
A licence the platform issued directly moves with the organization.
Retiring a distributor
A distributor with live organizations cannot be deleted: each organization is transferred first. Suspending a distributor blocks only its operators; its customers' organizations keep working.
