Each customer's licence state changes on its own with the dates. Follow it under «Distributor» › «Licences» and renew before the end.

Which states are there?

StateWhenWhat the customer sees
«Active»Within validityNothing special
«Ending soon»30 days before the end (by default)A banner: the licence ends on a date; ask your distributor or AuthGuard to renew it
«In grace period»After the end, 14 days by defaultA banner: «Renew it now: after the grace period the organization becomes read-only.» Everything works
«Expired»After the graceRead-only (or suspended, depending on the terms)
«Revoked» / «Ended»Revoked or no licenceTreated as expired

The warning and grace periods and the end behaviour come from the licence terms the platform sets.

What does "read-only" mean?

Sign-in, single sign-on and application sign-ins keep working; people keep their password, passkey and sign-out. Still allowed: revoking sessions, changing a person's status (re-enabling needs a free seat) and GDPR requests. Every other administrative change is refused with license_read_only. Nothing is deleted.

What if the terms say "suspend"?

The organization is suspended (realm_suspended at sign-in and on the API) until renewal; the renewal resumes it automatically. A suspension made by an operator is separate and is not lifted by a renewal.

How do I avoid surprises?

  • Filter by the «Ending soon» state in the licence list.
  • Renew your pool before renewing your customers.
  • Warn the customer: the console banner names the distributor and AuthGuard.
