Enrol and confirm an Edge appliance

An appliance enrols with a single-use code and starts working only after you confirm in the console the six-digit code it shows. That way nobody can enrol an appliance in your name.

Where are the appliances?

«Operate» › «Edge appliances». Appliances are grouped by «Sites» (up to 100 per organization; by default up to 50 live appliances).

How do I enrol an appliance?

1. If you have no site yet, choose «Add site» and enter the «Site name».
2. Choose «Add appliance» and enter the «Appliance name».
3. The «Enrolment code» appears: «This code is shown only once and expires in 30 minutes.» Use «Copy code» or «Copy command».
4. Install the appliance with that code. See Install the appliance. The state becomes «Awaiting confirmation».
5. The appliance's log shows a six-digit confirmation code.
6. In the console, choose «Confirm» next to the appliance and type the six digits («Type the six digits the appliance console shows.»).
7. The state becomes «Active».

Both sides derive the six digits from the enrolment's keys; the server never sends them.

«Retire» › «Retire the appliance?»: «Its certificates are revoked at once and it can no longer connect.»
