Tutorial 13Approval requests1:58 · Narrated in Portuguese, with English captions.Transcript and details

Some of your organization's systems (for example an ERP or a payments application) can ask you to approve or decline a specific operation, such as paying an invoice. You see the exact values and decide with your passkey or, when the operation type allows it, on your phone.

Where do I see the requests?

In the console, under «Protect» › «Overview», the «Approval requests» section lists pending requests, with the note «A system in your organization is asking for your decision. Review the values and decide with your passkey; approving and declining require the same confirmation.»

How do I decide in the console?

  1. Choose «Review request».
  2. Check the operation's name, who requested it, the reference and every field (for example the amount and the payee).
  3. Compare the «Request comparison code» with the code the originating system shows you.
  4. Choose «Approve with passkey» or «Decline». Both ask for the same passkey confirmation.

How do I decide on my phone?

When the operation type allows phone approval and you have a linked phone, the request also appears in the approver app, with «Requested by» and the reference. Depending on the mode your organization chose:

  • you type on the phone the code the originating system shows; or
  • you compare the code the phone shows with the originating system's.

See Approve a request on your phone.

When not to approve

  • When the values are not what you expected.
  • When you do not recognise the request.
  • When someone asks you by phone or chat to approve "urgently".

Decline and tell the operation's owner and security.

Notes

  • A recovery session cannot decide requests.
  • Each decision is recorded and produces a signed receipt the originating system can verify.
